Ana’s Journey: A Story of Renewed Hope.
Honouring Anas: A Legacy of Resilience and Transformation
"I really enjoyed the CiSKuLA project because they valued me and renewed my life. My life is not the same as before." — Anas
On World NTD Day 2025, we shared the inspiring story of Anas, a young man from Jigawa, Nigeria, who turned his struggle with a Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) into a journey of resilience and empowerment. Through CiSKuLA, our holistic and inclusive NTDs project in Jigawa, implemented in partnership with CBM Global Disability Inclusion, Anas not only received support but also found a renewed sense of purpose.
He refused to let his condition define him. Instead, he became a beacon of hope, demonstrating that NTDs are not a life sentence. His story inspired many to rise above stigma and embrace life fully.
Though Anas sadly passed away in October last year, his impact continues to be felt in the lives he touched.
As we reflect on World NTD Day 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against NTDs. Anas’ legacy reminds us why inclusive interventions are crucial in transforming lives and communities.
