On World NTD Day 2025, we honor Anas, a young man from Jigawa, Nigeria, whose journey with Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) became one of resilience and empowerment through the CiSKuLA project, our project in Jigawa State that is supported by CBM Global Disability Inclusion, Anas overcame stigma and inspired many. Though he passed away in October last year, his legacy lives on, reminding us of the importance of inclusive interventions in transforming lives and communities.

Magajiya Abdullahi

Magajiya's life was marked by adversity. She was widowed at age 30 and has been the sole guardian of her seven children. She also has a condition called Lymphedema, which is the swelling of tissue due to retention of fluid in the lymph vessels. The ailment not only caused physical discomfort but also social stigma as she drew in negative attention from the people in her community.
